About 6th Grade Science
Welcome to 6th Grade Science! The course will focus on the fascinating planet we call home as we learn about the interaction of the earth’s systems. It is important for everyone to appreciate how the earth works so that we can preserve it for generations to come!
Within this dynamic course, we will explore many fascinating topics such as matter, energy sources, plate tectonics, human impact on the earth and environmental awareness, and the cycles that circulate energy and material through the earth system.

All students are capable of high achievement and learn best when actively involved. I will provide many opportunities for students to work in group settings as well as individually. Cooperative and self-directed learning will be encouraged and supported. But most importantly, I will try and develop a happy dynamic learning environment, where the students develop a real interest in geography and the world around them.
And a final note. There are also plenty of opportunities that students can obtain extra assistance, perhaps the easiest being during study time during school. I will generally be available after school until 4pm Monday to Thursday but there will be a specific ‘Science’ afternoon named in the near future. Extra help sessions will also be made available by appointment. Basically, if you require extra help, just come and ask!
