Aujourd’hui nous avons passé un contrôle, (quiz) sur le vocabulaire des activités de l’hiver et de l’été.

Demain:  Nous allons apprendre le passé composé des verbes irréguliers, et aussi des verbes qui utilisent être en passé composé

1.Tell about yourself.  Parle de toi-même.

2. Talk about school.  What do you like? Dislike? What are your favorite classes? Why? Parle de l’école. Qu’en penses-tu? Qu’est-ce que tu aimes, ou n’aimes pas? Donne des raisons.

3. Parle de l’école en France.  Quelles sont les différences entre les deux systèmes? (le notre, et le système française)

3.Talk about someone famous whom you admire. Parle de quel qu’un(e) fameux(se) que tu admires.

4.Make a list of school supplies, and talk about what you put on it. Give reasons for each item. Fais une liste de fournitures scolaires.  Qu’est-ce que tu y mets?  Donne la raison pour chaque article.

5. Describe your family. Give a physical description (hair, eyes, height etc.) and tell about likes, dislikes and characteristics. Décris ta famille. Donne une déscription physique, et aussi des charactéristiques.

6. If you had a free day, what would you do?  Si tu as une journée libre, qu’est-ce que tu fais?

7. What is your ideal weekend? Comment est ton weekend idéal?

Chers élèves de huitième classe,  l’examen vient, mais ne vous en faites pas.  Voici une guide pour vous aider:

Study Guide:

Vocabulaire: Review the definitions of all the vocab lists from chapters 8,9 and 10. Make sure you know them English to French and French to English.  Don’t forget to know the gender of each noun and be able to conjugate each verb.

Structure:  Look at each grammar point. There are 2-4 in each chapter.   Make sure you can do the following with each and every one.  Explain in English what the rule is, and what it means.  Be able to explain how it works, (ex: the passe compose is made up of two parts; the past participle and the present tense of the verb ‘avoir’.)  Then be sure you can recognize it in a sentence, and make up a few examples of this on your own.

Culture:  Read each and every passage, slowly and carefully, translating aloud as you go.  Answer the comprehension questions at the end. Retell in your own words what the main points of the passage were.

If you can do each of these things for each chapter we have studied, you will be in excellent shape for the semester final.  Remember that it is REVIEW. You have already studied this, so it should go much more smoothly which each subsequent review.

The following is question I will be asking during the oral exam.  Try to answer as best you can.  You will draw two cards, each with one sport on it, and then you can choose your favorite one.  We will talk about your question for a minute or two and that will be it!  I will show you the rubric for grading in class.
