Using the following verbs that I have written below, write a SIMPLE story IN THE PRESENT TENSE using words and expressions that we have learned this year.  Four to six interesting sentences with subject/verb agreement, some adjectives, and a variety of nouns should cover it.  You will share your story orally in class.  20 points = speaking/effort grade

In chapter 7, there are a couple of new irregular verbs to learn: 

• voir & croire = verbes semblables 
• mettre, promettre (to promise), permettre (to allow) = verbes semblables  

Go to the verb chart in the BACK of YOUR TEXTBOOK.  On a separate sheet of paper, WRITE down the conjugaisons of these verbs.  Do they fit in la botte?  Why or why not?

ETUDIEZ LES VERBES DE LA FEUILLE VERTE – 15 MINUTES

Can you fix your errors on your vocabulary lists?  Double check your spelling, your definitions, your accents, and the category where you put the word/expression.  Do all of this on your computer.  Some definitions are best looked up in the back of your textbook.  Word reference is awesome but can sometimes lead you astray.  Finally, someone in the class earned 25/20 on this exercise.  I wonder what this person did to earn 125% on an assignment.

Your illustrations for your animal story are due on LUNDI!  Please use a regular size piece on colorful construction paper.  Use coloring pencils, not markers.  Have fun!

Oh my….I graded your assessments.  Yikes!  I think many of you need to take a MUCH closer look at your verbs on the green sheet.  This vocabulary is not going away, and you really must learn it.

Les Animaux:  Rewrite your brouillon taking out ALL of the errors and following the original instructions – see previous blog entry.

• Be mindful that you will be having a quiz over the verbs on the green sheet any day now.  ETUDIEZ.
• You are going to make your own vocabulary list for chapter 7.  You will receive a 20 point effort grade.  Please use the template that I have attached so that your list follows the prescribed format.  Should you not follow the template, your highest possible score will be no more than 14/20.  Should you not put the parts of speech in the correct categories, your highest possible score will be no more than 14/20.  Should you have more than TWO accent issues, your highest possible score will be no more than 14/20.  This list will be due jeudi 10 mai.  It will be typed.
• Les Animaux – make sure you know these.
• Irregular verbs.  Review.

Your rough drafts -brouillons- need to be hand written with all of the errors tidied up.  Did you skip lines?  Did you use blue or black ink?  Do you have subject/verb agreement?  Did you use the vocabulary on the helpful handout sheet?  Did you use an adjective or two?  Did you use an idiomatic expression, such as avoir faim?  Do you have a title that includes an adjective?  Did you include the transition words?  Are your accents in the right place and going in the right direction?  Do you like what you’ve created?
