Teaching 8th Grade English  (also 10th Grade English 2000-2003). Experienced in teaching grammar, composition, creative writing, and the exploration and analysis of literature.

1997-2009            Harambee Summer Enrichment Program: Teacher
Teaching creative writing in a summer program for gifted African-American students in the Savannah area.

1997-Current            MS English Department Head
Helping colleagues in the upper and middle schools share more effectively.  Initiated and organized an English Scope and Sequence to facilitate more creative curriculum. Maintain helpful dialogue between English teachers at the school.

1998-current            Advisor- MS Literary Magazine: The Core

Created and publish annual journal featuring the school’s best
6, 7, and 8th grade writing.

2003-current            8th Grade Team Leader
Responsible for supervising the 8th grade advisory system, establishing helpful dialogues with parents, and tracking each 8th grade student in regard to academic, social, and extra-curricular needs

Extra Duties            8th Grade Outward Bound Director/Advisor

Organize and chaperone annual week-long 8th grade trip to the Florida Everglades.
