3rd Annual Savannah Country Day School Awareness Film Festival

3rd Annual 8TH GRADE AWARENESS MOVIE PROJECT AND FESTIVAL

“The Soul
of Art
In Savannah”

This year we are returning to an exciting project, the 3rd Annual 8th Grade Awareness Movie Project. This cross-curricular project challenges students to make a three-minute film that brings acute awareness to a social or environmental issue for which they feel passion or concern. Students will be put into movie teams of five or six, do research and will be trained to use IMovie software and how to use the school’s Panasonic video cameras.

After the winter break, students will use music, video, still photography, voice-overs and other movie effects to make their films. With your signed permission and assistance, students are allowed to check-out both video cameras and MacBook computers from the school. We envision kids using this equipment on weekends to give them necessary out-of-school time to work on their films.

In late April we hope to have our third 8th Grade Awareness Movie Festival, a festival that celebrates the students’ work and brings topic awareness to a greater audience, including parents, other middle school students and the world.
