You are to engage in a bit of a webquest. http://libweb.uml.edu/clh/mo.htm You are to read the introduction. Then you should click on the “oberservations of Lowell” link. Choose any observation to read from the 1820s or 30s.
You are to take notes on the observation. Your entry should include some of the following (granted, not all will contain all these): Who was making the statement? Who was being discussed? What were the conditions like? Overall, what is your sense of life in Lowell?

You have a short 1920s quiz tomorrow. You have known about the quiz all week and it covers the material since the last quiz. All oral notes will also be included. Format will be multiple choice and short answer for political cartoon analysis.

8th grade: I have included an dictionary of 1920s slang. The goal for you is to write a story using the lingo from the 1920s. You are to have fun with this exercise. You should have historical references and dialogue included. There is no length limit. However, I would like to see at least a page.

You should answer how the 1920s represent the duality of the US from a traditional, conservative realm to a more modern, era.
