6th: Acid Review and Votes; 7th: Acceleration day
Posted in Uncategorized on March 5, 2012 by harrison6th: After a review of Friday’s information, the class discussed briefly why the acid rain might be killing the fish. They also had a healthy argument as to who was responsible for the acid rain. Next up, we heard from Latoya Faktorie and why she is not the acid rain perpetrator. Hmmm. Food for thought. Lastly, Don Juan made his statement on acid rain as he also has a factory, the oil refinery. Final activity: a vote for who we currently think is the main suspect in the fish kill!
6th HOMEWORK: Please keep in mind we have a QUIZ on Wednesday or Thursday on the science content we have discussed so far in this environmental unit. Your homework is to create a quizlet or good ole flashcards. The terms and concepts are listed here: bioindicator, daphnia, chemical tests, biological tests, chlorine, dissolved oxygen, pH, acid vs. base, inference, sulfuric and nitric acid rains, limestone, smokestack scrubbers
7th: With a quick review of last week’s activities, we assessed how well the balloon rockets have exemplified Newton’s three laws of motion. And what is this idea of acceleration?
7th HOMEWORK: Please assess your journal for submission tomorrow and review the study guide for Wednesday’s quiz.
