I have postponed the Test in Chapter 9 (in MA 80 and 83) until next week. In the meantime we are going to try and get caught up.
Geometry – Today in class we worked on area and perimeter and geo boards. You need to correct your worksheet, bring in an image for Dialation/Rotation, and then finish reading chapter 8.
MA 80 and MA 83 – Today in class we did two practice problems to refresh our memories. Your homework is to finish homework that was due Tuesday as well as a worksheet (10 problems).

Math 80 and Math 83 will have a TEST this week (most likely Thursday) on Chapter 9. Please be well prepared and organized.
Geometry – For Tuesday you need to read all of Chapter 8 in your text. It is only 4 sections on dialations, transformations, etc.
Honors Algebra – You need to correct the worksheet “practice activity”, correct and finish front and back of the “quiz” worksheet and do the back of worksheet 9-6(B)
Algebra – You need to get organized and study for test on Thursday. You also need to do p. 574-575 #1-10, 16-21, 23 and 24.

We have a short week as you will have no school on Friday (Teacher Workday) or Monday (Presidents Day Holiday). You STILL have a 3-D valentine due on Tuesday – Valentines Day. Remember these valentines are worth 15 points (5 points for 3-D, 5 points for creativity, and 5 points for using at least 10 different mathematical terms).
Geometry - Monday in class we will discuss 7-6 (Midsegment theorem) and 7-3 (Ways to prove a quadrilateral is a parallelogram). For Monday night: 3-D valentine, and p. 288-289 #6-15, 22-29. For Tuesday night you need to do the Chapter 7 practice test. For Wednesday you need to do the area and perimeter worksheet and study for the quiz. Quiz on Chapter 7 and midpoint and distance formulas on Thursday.
Honors Algebra – Monday in class we will discuss Quadratics and projectiles and the Quadratic formula. For Monday night you need to do worksheet “Old” 9-5(B) and your 3-D valentine. For Tuesday night you need to do the Front side of the “Quiz” worksheet and the worksheet “Practice Activity” (president). For Wednesday night you need to do study for an open note quiz on Thursday and review discriminants. You will need to do worksheet “old” 9-6 (B). We will have a TEST next week on Chapter 9.
Algebra – In class on Monday we will discuss the discriminant. For homework you need to do your 3-D valentine and Worksheet “old” 9-6(b). You will have an open note quiz on Thursday in class and next week you will have a Test on Chapter 9. For Tuesday night you need to do the back of the “quiz” worksheet and study for your upcoming quiz. Wednesday we will do more with the discriminant and you need to do the Hickam worksheet for homework. Thursday is an in class open note quiz.

So I hope you have recovered from Outward Bound or a week away from school. We are all tired and in need of a rest. Keep in mind that your 3-D valentines will be due Tuesday. Your valentine must be creative, 3-D and use at least 10 mathematical words.
Geometry – Yesterday in class we worked on Trapezoids and Kites. You had a worksheet due today. For tonight you need to do the Worksheet / Outline on Quadrilaterals and finding the angles. For Monday you will need to finish the Parallelogram sheet and be working on your valentine. Quiz Thursday!
Honors Algebra – Due today in class was the old 9-4(B) worksheet and p. 534-535 #3-8, 12, and 13. Today in class we practiced reading graphs and graphing parabolas. For tonight you need to do worksheet 9-1 and 9-2 (extra practice). Tomorrow in clas we will discuss the quadratic equation so your homework will be to do worksheet 9-4 (A) and practice the quadratic equation. Also keep in mind your 3-D valentine will be due on Tuesday.
Algebra – On Wednesday we worked on solving the quadratic equation and you needed to do worksheet 9-5 through #21. Today in class we did more practice on the quadratic equation. Remember you must memorize this formula! Also for Friday you need to do the worksheet “Practice Activity”. The first 5 problems do not require the quadratic equation. For Monday you will need to do worksheet 9-5 problems and work on your 3-D valentine!

So welcome back from a week away – most of us were in the everglades. I don’t know about you but I am very very tired and still recovering from OB! Today in class we are moving ahead.
In Geometry we are discussing Quadrilaterals and their properties. Homework is to read 7-1, 7-2, 7-3 and 7-4. Also you need to look up properties of a “kite”. Additionally, finish the worksheet about quadrilaterals if you have not already.
In Honors we talked about graphing parabolas and the general equation for them. Your homework is to graph the 4 parabolas (the first worksheet). Bring questions about graphs.
In Algebra we continued discussing projectiles and quadratics. Your homework is to do Worksheet 9-2 #4,5 and 7 and Worksheet 9-4 (A) #1-3.

Hope you are packing bags and gathering your gear!
Geometry – Today you had a worksheet (and keep in mind that on the worksheet you are asked to do three book questions). Additionally you will have a quiz on Thursday – possibly take home.
Honors – We continued to talk about the unit circle in radians and the functions secant, cosecant, and cotangent. Your homework is to study for quiz on Thursday and do a worksheet packet. Spend 30-45 minutes.
Algebra – Today we discussed sections 9-2 and 9-3 —graphing parabolas and reading graphs. Your homework is to do worksheets 9-2 (B) and 9-3 (B).

I hope you are all planning on attending the potluck tonight at 6:30pm in Triol Hall. If you have a ton of homework, I will let you turn your math in late in hopes that you will attend the potluck.
Geometry – Today we reviewed the unit circle and learned the formulas for special right triangles. Your homework is to do two worksheets (front and back of both).
Honors – Today we had a guest, Mr. Hincker. He discussed the unit circle with you. Your homework is to do the one worksheet (both sides) and to practice the unit circle.
Algebra – We continued discussing square roots and operations with square roots. Remember TEST Friday, and thus you need to do p. 502-503 #1-7,9-14,17,20,22,23, and 24.

Have a great time at the dance tonight! Be sure to think about ways to serve your school or greater community. While you may have a day off, MLK very much supported “a day on”. While you may not be able to do any sort of service on Monday, perhaps you can be kind and “pay it forward.” Keep in mind we will also have a service project on Saturday April 28 – to help Second Harvest.
Geometry – Finish the 3 trig triangles for homework.
Honors – Finish the 8 Trig triangles for homework.
Algebra – Finish the Square Root Worksheet (do all of the front and #3, 5, 8 and 9 on the back.
