Of course EL CINCO DE MAYO TIENE QUE SER EN ESPAÑOL.  The open book quiz won’t count, but the take home exam will.  It won’t be easy, therefore you must be very careful when you answer the questions.  It will be very similar to the quiz, but with a twist! Can you think what it will be?  Extra points for the right guess! ¡VIVA EL CINCO DE MAYO!

What a surprised to have a pop quiz! but using the book was helpful, right?  Sometimes you may think that an open book quiz is easy, but if you don’t know were to look for the answer, the quiz becomes a nightmare!  Mañana vamor a trabajar en EL CINCO DE MAYO and also we’ll have the game creating sentences with the cards.  HASTA MAÑANA.

Having the open book quiz seemed easy, but I’ve seen already some mistakes.   What I want to do with open book quizzes is to teach you where to look for the information.  If you grade is too bad, I’ll allow you to take it again, don’t worry, I just want you to learn the PRETÉRITO.  Mañana vamos a preparar la presentación de El cinco de mayo.  If you are going to do a poster, bring the material you need for the project.  If you are going to write a paragraph, bring the right material to write it, and if you are using power point, we’ll make sure you get a computer.  HASTA MAÑANA

Thanks to one of you, we had a very intense review for the quiz. Remember that SABER is for facts, pieces of information, and to know how to do something.  CONOCER is when you know somebody or are familiar with him/her.  Also it is used to refer to familiar objects, or places, like cities. If A PERSON OR PET FOLLOWS CONOCER WE NEED AN A AFTER CONOCER:  CONOZCO A MANOLO.

The indirect object pronoun is in your system by now.  A MIS PADRES LES ESCRIBO UNA CARTA.

LES in the pronoun because A MIS PADRES is the indirect object.  BUENA SUERTE

I have a feeling that the quiz is going to be alright.  One class told me it was easy and the other ASÍ, ASÍ.  We’ll see.  The stem-changing verbs are next, you are at least familiar with them already, therefore they will’ be easier tomorrow.  Because it’ll be Friday, we’ll be singing a song or playing a game.  HASTA MAÑANA

It was very nice to see some of you doing the silence vote.  Today was a lot of grammar, mañana we’ll have some games to review the material for Friday’s quiz.  The indirect pronouns are getting easier every time we do them.  You’ll do fine.  We’ll do the listening part we didn’t have time to do today.  Bring the listening handout.  HASTA MAÑANA

Tomorrow we have the quiz about the verb IR .  I’m glad you liked the idea of doing the stem-changing verbs quiz next Thursday.  The verb IR is very easy, VOY AL PARQUE means that you go to the park, but IR+A+INFINITIVE represents the future, you are going to do something in the future or near future: VOY A BAILAR POR LA NOCHE, I’m going to dance tonight.  It is normal to use IR with other verbs, remember, the second verb must be in the INFINITIVE, QUIERO IR AL PARQUE, I want to go to the park.  One of my classes did ggreat in the oral practice, the other must practice more…  After the quiz, stem-changing verbs, uhu!!!!!!

Class, it is difficult to learn the stem-changing verbs, but once you have them, you’ll never forget e:ie like EMPEZAR or o/u:ue like DORMIR or JUGAR.

All the persons change, but NOSOTROS and VOSOTROS, this are the BOOT verbs.  You struggled with the Supersite, that’s why we took a look at it.  You’ll be ready for tomorrow.  Remember you have a quiz on Thursday, and soon an exam.  The quiz will be on IR and STEM-CHANGING VERBS.
